Why I'm Not Voting for Harris-Walz

Ahh, election season once again. Time to get controversial.

So um, here's the thing. I hate Trump. He embarrasses me every day. He makes us look like backwards idiots. And frankly the fact that he got elected means that we probably are all backwards idiots. Um, he's ruining people's lives, he's making horrible racist decisions which are probably going to have long-lasting repercussions long after he's out of office. Overall I would be a much happier person if we found a way to deport him from every position of power that he has ever had.

But I'm not voting for abortionists, and claiming that abortion protects women is a very shallow way to look at it, to say the least. Republicans may have chosen literally the least likable candidate they could find, all for the lulz, but the Democrats are wicked. And as it turns out, that's not even the worst part.

Gov. Walz is bad at Crazy Taxi.

I'm a Minnesotan through and through. I may live in Nebraska, but I spent the first 20 years of my life in Minnesota. I love the Minnesota Vikings. I love lefse. I love going to the lake. I love saying "Doncha kno." However, I am not a fan of Gov. Walz.

Stupid flag council should have picked this one from DeviantArt Tieger131

I respect him for being one of the few politicians who acknowledges that teachers exist, and thinks they are valuable to society. I want him out for his abortion policies. (Do you think I'm a single-issue voter yet?) But this is the final straw.

He probably did own a Sega Dreamcast back in the day, 25 years ago. He probably did play Crazy Taxi. But his skills do not show it. He overshoots the first stop by a long way, and I don't think he knows about the brake. I doubt he has any memory of the Crazy Box, if he played through it. Because he could have done a crazy stop to stop in a second. It's okay. The Crazy Taxi passengers don't believe in whiplash. In fact, they pay you better.

Walz drives really slow. I think he might not be pressing the analog trigger down far enough? I'm not sure what port he is playing, so I don't know what controller he's on. (I know it's not the Dreamcast port, because the soundtrack is different. Probably Xbox 360 or Steam.) If he had played Crazy Box mode, he might have learned about the crazy boost. It would have really helped him out.

His weaving skills are weak. The name of the game when it comes to driving in oncoming traffic is to make very slight adjustments on the analog stick so you can get through with as little movement as possible. Massive adjustments in velocity just make you a bigger target. But he doesn't make slight adjustments. I'm starting to wonder if he's playing on keyboard and mouse.

And finally, he loses a passenger really early into the game. Losing a passenger is not super uncommon, because the downtown area, with the multitude of intersections and similar-looking buildings, can screw you over. But this is only 2 minutes or so past the start of the game. It's because of the reasons above. He doesn't know how to brake, or at least not effectively. He drives slow for some reason. His weaving skills are unrefined at best. He's not good at the game.

What controller is he holding?

It's funny. AOC said something along the lines of, "Nobody watching can say you haven't played a Dreamcast." I think Gov. Walz probably did play Crazy Taxi on Dreamcast, but I would not argue if you don't believe him. His skills are weak. You might as well pretend that it's your first time if you're gonna be that bad on stream.

Is this the type of man we want in our federal government? I say nay. If you vote for Harris-Walz, I won't automatically be upset with you. I don't think that way. But if you vote for them because of Walz' Crazy Taxi skills, you're off your rocker.

I miss Jesse Ventura. We should re-elect him as governor. What a time that would be.

Evil Dead 2 Movie Review

Ash flies a baguette plane.

This is it. Evil Dead 2 is the pinnacle of Raimi movies. It's campy, creative, seemingly low budget, and it has Bruce Campbell in it.

It's wild that this whole movie only exists to promote Eminem records that won't be out for a while. For real, the main characters sing "Mockingbird" multiple times. And then at the end Ash ends up at a "Castle." And all the chainsaw massacre-ing is quite reminiscent of Relapse. They were putting a lot of faith in Marshall there to deliver on his records.

The camera work and effects are really creative. I loved the stop motion of all the deadites. Especially Linda's animation at the beginning and Henrietta's animation at the end look amazing. And I have no idea how they did the tree grabbing Ash at the very end. That was wild to watch.

I'd never seen this movie, but I have played Evil Dead: Hail to the King on Sega Dreamcast. So half the time I was watching Evil Dead 2, I was just thinking about how this scene looks in the game.

6/10. Very fun movie. Would 100% watch with a horror fan during Halloween season.

E3 Wishes and Predictions 2018 - Sega + Atlus

Well last year, most of the things in my "realistic" tier of wishes from Sega was answered. We got playable demos of Sonic Mania and Forces, a new All Stars Racing game was announced (albeit with only Sonic characters this time), and PSO2 is on the Switch. So now I have new things to beg for.

NEW CRAZY TAXI - I love Crazy Taxi. It's super fun. I would really love a new one for current platforms. I already made a potential soundtrack for it in Spotify. I would like if all the Crazy Taxi 3 maps and 2 new maps were included in it, but as long as it's Crazy Taxi and it has at least 1 good map and solid music, I don't mind.

PSO 2 LOCALIZED - Phantasy Star Online 2 looks like it would really fun. I don't have a Raspberry Pi, so I can't play PSO online on the Dreamcast. But the Switch has WiFi. I'd much prefer to play online. Thing is, I can't read Japanese so playing it in its current state is near impossible. I would love it if it came to the West. I would prefer an actual port over PSO2 Cloud, but I'll take what I can get. Also, put it on Xbox One. They have about 38 million users, so that's a lot of potential sales of PSO 2.

SATURN GAMES ON SWITCH - The Saturn is easily Sega's most collectible console. It has almost 1400 titles, and a lot of them are uncommon and expensive. Saturn consoles are also the most valuable of all Sega consoles. Genesises are about 30 bucks, Dreamcasts are around 50, Master Systems are upwards of 85, and Saturns are over 100 dollars. Long story short, Saturn collecting is expensive and I want Sega to just rerelease things on the Switch, sort of like Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.

And since Sega owns Atlus, they could put Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner for the Saturn on the Switch. I've never played Shin Megami Tensei before, but I've always wanted to. Besides, I have to mention Atlus somewhere in this post. We'll throw in a Persona 4 Golden port for good measure.

Last year, I said that I wanted a new Sega console. Now I don't. If Sega had a new console, all their cool games would be exclusive to their platform, and I couldn't play them on Switch. We also can't confirm that a new Sega console would have good third party, so it would only be good for playing Sega games. No thanks.

So what I expect from Sega and Atlus this E3 is not a lot. Sega is going to be showing off All Stars Racing 3 and Valkyria Chronicles 4. I'm hyped for both of those, so this is a good show so far. I feel like Sega Ages is having some titles announced, plus an announcement for Sega Ages for PS4 and Xbox One. I just feel like that's gonna happen. Atlus is probably going to talk about Catherine and Shin Megami Tensei 5. That's all I think will happen. It sounds like a good showing this year. See you later for when I talk about Activision's set!

E3 Wishes and Predictions - Sega + Atlus

Oh boy, it's my favorite company in the gaming industry, Sega. I'm going to talk about what I want from them and what I expect from them. Oh, and Atlus is there too.

So there are 3 "tiers", in a sense, of what I want Sega to announce at E3, each one being more believable than the last.

The thing I want the most is for Sega to announce a new console that's as powerful as the Scorpio with internal support for Dreamcast, Saturn, and Sega CD games, with the original controller ports and VMU slots on the side. The Saturn would need original hardware (since it's pretty hard to emulate Saturn hardware), but the Dreamcast and Sega CD games would run through emulation. It would also support Genesis and Master System cartridges, but you need to buy an adapter that plugs in through USB 3.0. This console would be just as popular as the PlayStation 4 (or at least the Xbox One) and feature some amazing first party titles within the first year. Jet Set Radio 3, Crazy Taxi 4, Space Channel 5 Part 3, Sonic Unleashed Remastered (both the PS2 and PS3 versions together), a new Panzer Dragoon, and Yakuza. Nearly all multiplats would appear on it; it would have tons of 3rd party support. It will be wildly successful and Sega's back in the hardware business; the price will be $409.99.

I drew one of these in the first post of this series. Go look at it if you want to see it.

So that's the most unbelievable of the 3.

If that doesn't happen, I'll settle for this. Sega announces a new console that's about as powerful as the PS4 Pro and supports Sega CD games through emulation, but you need to buy a new controller that looks like a Saturn controller, but wireless; there are no ports on the side for original contollers. It has a few Genesis games in the store and some of the Sonic games and Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 at launch, as well as Phantasy Star Online 2 and a bunch of 3rd party games as launch titles. It will be super popular and everyone will buy it.

I frankly think Project Dream is poorly designed, but I don't have a better design scanned to my computer right now. This one is the closest to what the lesser of the 2 planned consoles would be like.

That's more likely to happen, but it's still very unlikely.

Or, I'd be fine with this.

Sega announces a new Sonic and All Stars Racing game for the Vita, Wii U, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. They also announce Jet Set Radio 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. There's more about Sonic Forces, and Sonic Mania has a playable demo. Phantasy Star Online 2 is getting a western release for PS4; Xbox One, Switch, and PC versions are coming some time later. I would be fine with that. That would be alright.

But what do I expect from Sega? More on that later.

And remember, Sega and Atlus share a booth at E3. So what do I wish from Atlus?

To be honest, I don't know a thing about Atlus. I hope for stuff from them and that's all I can say.

But what do I expect from Sega? What about Atlus? Well according to Sega Bits, it's going to be a boring E3 for the both of them. It's mainly stuff we already know about. There's stuff about Yakuza 6, Sonic Forces, Shin Megami Tensei, and Radiant Historia. You can read about that by clicking this link.

So what's next? Activision? Oh well. Show up later to read all about what I want and expect from Activision. Or don't. I don't really care all that much.
